Cambridge Handbook
I am excited to work with Professor Alex Preda at King's College London on writing a book chapter of "Global FX Retail Traders" to be included in the handbook "Cambridge Global Companion to Financial Infrastructures" (Cambridge University Press, expected 2024). Lehigh Finance
I am honored to join Lehigh University's Perella Department of Finance in the College of Business. I cannot imagine how exciting it would be to work from a Hogwarts-esque beautiful campus!! Associate of King's College
I'm extremely honored to have recently been elected as an Associate of King's College (AKC). The AKC (Associateship of King’s College) is the original award of King's, dating back to its foundation in 1829 and reflecting its first motto: sancte et sapienter, "holiness and wisdom". I'm now eligible to use the postnominals ‘AKC’ after my name: Xiaochuan Tong, PhD, AFHEA, AKC.

Commencement Hooding
At Bradley University's 2021 winter commencement, I was honored to serve at the hooding ceremony for our MBA and Master's graduates in the Foster College of Business. I was excited to see some of my students graduating this year. I hope our graduates enjoyed their big moment in life and wish them the very best of luck!!

Conference Presentation
At the 2021 Financial Management Association (FMA) Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado, I presented my paper "When Does Female Leadership Advantage Exists? Evidence from SOEs in China." This paper shows that female CEOs outperform male CEOs in state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in terms of firm performance.

Economic Mobility
At the 2019 UMass Boston Convocation, I had the opportunity to speak to Mayor Martin J. Walsh of the City of Boston and express my support for his effort on advancing the upward economic mobility of Bostonians. One of my goals as a scholar is to conduct meaningful research to empower financial inclusion, economic mobility, and social equity.

Royster Global Fellow
In summer 2019, I participated in the Royster Global Conference at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a 2019 Royster Global Fellow. I presented at the conference in the “Strengths and Challenges of Interdisciplinary Research” workshop.

Food Insecurity in Boston
In summer 2017, I went for a one-week service trip with several students at UMass Boston to investigate and address the complex issue of food insecurity in Boston. We served local farms, a special restaurant for homeless people, Dorchester Boys and Girls Club, and Boston Food Bank.

Mental Health Awareness
In winter 2020 and spring 2021, I participated in a learning and service program with UMass Boston students studying and raising awareness of the mental health challenges that the Asian American population were facing especially given the Covid-19 pandemic.
